What’s the greatest Christmas gift you ever received? You know the one. It was that perfect gift you’d been wanting for months, maybe even years. Was it a BB gun, a bike, a pet, a doll (or action figure to use the male terminology), some ultra cool toy or something entirely different?
The greatest Christmas gift I have ever received actually arrived a few days early. On December 12, 1998, my wife Kathy and I were blessed with two little action figures of our own, our daughter Arielle and our son Tevis. The depth of love I felt when I saw them for the first time was a feeling I had never experienced until that moment. The gift of fatherhood changed me forever.
Those two little bundles of joy have now grown into smart, active, capable, loving fourth graders that serve as my constant source of inspiration to be a better father and a better man. They are truly the gift that keeps giving.
So what was your greatest Christmas gift ever?
