Good Morning!
Today's idea leads us further along the path of understanding that we are not alone in this world. When I say that we are not alone, it seems rather obvious that there are several billion people alive on the planet right now. However, what the Course means is that there is only One mind and we are not separate from that. This lesson tells us that not only are we projecting our thoughts out and making reality, but other people are doing the same thing. The fact that we see the same reality "out there" is evidence that we are all thinking from the same mind. For example, today I am in NC and when I woke up this morning, there was a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground outside my window. As I was doing this lesson, I asked my husband to tell me what he saw out of the window and he stated that he saw snow, the lake, our big tree and a church off in the distance. Same things that I was seeing. We have agreed upon a collective version of reality - we have a shared understanding of what snow is and what a tree and a lake look like.
There is a section in the Manual for Teachers of A Course in Miracles, Section 12, par 3, that asks: "Why is the illusion of many necessary?" It goes on to say, "They need a medium through which communication becomes possible to those who do not realize that they are spirit." "So do God's teachers need a body, for their unity could not be recognized directly."
I welcome this lesson today and am glad that I am aware that I am not alone and that I am Spirit.
